The floor flange for B-L-S showers are made from 3/8" stainless steel instead of cast iron. The steel floor flange will not break like brittle cast iron and if necessary can be welded to for support.

A stainless steel shower head is now a standard on B-L-S showers. It is not as likely to be broken as plastic shower heads and still offers excellent corrosion resistance. ABS Plastic shower heads are still offered for those who prefer them.
